You will be guided each week through:

  • Relaxation exercises to let go of stress in the body;

  • Breath work (learn breathing techniques that will switch the body from overdrive to stillness – YES you can experience this);

  • Acupressure (learn to release tension and pain from your body); and gentle movements to let the body know that it is safe to relax.

No experience necessary. This one hour class will teach you tools to use every day and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

What is meditation and what are the benefits?

Meditation assists us to quiet the mind and body. Teaching us to focus the mind, accept the chatter of the mind and allow ourselves to connect to our inner world, a place of calm reflection.

Meditation is often used to reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation or tame a busy mind. It may be done while sitting, lying with eyes closed in a quiet environment.

During Meditation research has confirmed that changes take place in the body; both physiological and psychological.

 

Meditation has been shown to assist with reducing stress, anxiety and depression; improve concentration and lower blood pressure. It can also improve self-awareness and acceptance of what is. What is Qigong & Why try it?

Qigong is a form of mindfulness and awareness of our body and mind. Combined with gentle movements that assist us to release tension, pain, anxiety, stress from out bodies.

 

With a focus on the breath, Qigong allows the body to restore the natural flow of Qi (chi) in the body, bringing a sense of peace and calm; designed to improve health and vitality.

Regular practice of Qigong has been shown to assist in the prevention and management of various medical conditions. These include relieving stress, anxiety and depression, easing Arthritis, back pain, asthma, headaches, lowering blood pressure, insomnia, toning muscles and help with digestion and waste elimination.
