What is Qigong & Why try it?

Qigong is a form of mindfulness. Gentle movements and meditation with a focus on the breath, designed to improve health and vitality.

Practicing Qigong allows the body to restore the natural flow of Qi (chi) in the body, bringing a sense of peace and calm.

Regular practice of Qigong has been shown to assist in the prevention and management of various medical conditions. The majority of health issues that are common in western society today can be improved with regular practice; these include relieving stress, anxiety and depression, easing Arthritis, back pain, asthma, headaches, lowering blood pressure, insomnia, toning muscles and help with digestion and waste elimination.

 

Qigong is not new, the Chinese have been practicing Qigong for over 5,000 years assisting them to remain healthy and strong, and free from disease (or assist the body when disease is present).

Level 1 - 10.30 - 11.30am

Classes resumes 20th January, 2020

Level 2 (NEW) - 11.45 - 12.45am

Classes begin 7th February, 2020

Completion of Level 1 is required for Level 2 class

What is 'Qi' or 'Chi'

Become conscious of the subtle energies of your body (Vital Life Force or Qi) and tune into the body's innate ability to self-heal. Jo will guide you through gentle practices to assist in calming the mind, body and spirit.

 

Regular Qigong practice has many health benefits and among other things can increase energy levels, happiness and general well-being.
